π₯ Is 2.0 Tdi Better Than 1.9 Tdi
The T-reg is much more comfortable. Power is better. Pittsburgh is not quite, but almost as bad as Boston for winter weather so the 4wd will be a nice asset. Mileage drops by around 1/3 from jetta to touareg, but with the diesel, it's still much better than comparable gas vehicles. I looked at other diesel suv's & Touareg was the only choice

1.6 TDI engine - Volkswagen, Audi, Ε koda, Seat. The 1.6 TDI engine was launched in March 2009, and although it was based on the larger 2.0 TDI CR, differs from it in several solutions. The modern design uses a common-rail system, a four-valve cylinder head, piezo injectors, a plastic intake manifold, a floating flywheel, a variable geometry

Re: 1.9tdi vs 2.0tdi (GoFaster) you see in norway we need to pay alot more in taxes when the hp is higher(the 2.0 costs 35000kr more=5000$) So if the engine was identical besides the 100cc he would just buy the 1.9 and chip it, but if the head and bottom end is different he might reconsider.

I can't offer any advice about swapping a TDi into a Wrangler, BUTdramatic pausehaving been a diesel mechanic for a while as well as having spent several thousand miles behind a TDi, I'd suggest almost anything BUT this engine if you want a diesel.
The clean diesel features particulate filters and other devices for removing diesel soot and order from the exhaust, as well as a system for reducing emissions. The 2.0-liter TDI produces 140 horsepower and whopping 236 pounds-feet of torque. While the 1.9-liter engine can best be described as peppy, the 2.0-liter TDI is down right quick.
I am less than convinced of the long term durability of a fuel pump lubricated in fuel (the PD pumps are oil lubricated) which develops pressures approaching 2 kBar. I went from a 2.0 TDI PD 140 to the CR TDI 143, as you say there is less 'percieved' shove but this is just because the engine is much more flexible - amazingly so.
The model I have been driving is the Kombi Trendline 2.0TDi DSG 103kW and while there are cheaper versions in the range, this model represents what most people are looking for when considering an 8-seater Mircrobus. Diesel, automatic and a reasonable amount of spec. Hopefully youβre sitting down, because this βcheapβ Kombi costs R505 550.00!
In response to the TDi vs 1.8T debate it seems that in your area the argument for the TDi is very strong with diesel prices so, so low compared with petrol. My experiences of the 110 TDi engine is that in the low revs (1500ish) the engine is more tractable than the 1.8T, more power low down and better in higher gears at lower speeds.
Is 2.0 TDI better than 1.9 TDI? The 1.9 is slightly more economical, the 2.0 is quicker revving, smoother, faster, quieter. The 1.9 only has a 5 speed box though. The 2.0 doesnβt pull quite as well from low revs (the 1.9 is like a tank) but is less peaky. Is the Audi 2.0 TDI reliable?
Re: VAG 1.9 vs 2.0 TDI Post by bigshurv Β» Sat Apr 14, 2012 8:01 pm Go 1.9, noisier, but more reliable and better mpg.I had a Passat TDi 130 estate sport new as a company car in 2002,I did ( thrashed it) 85k in 2 years then bought it for my Dad.
I have the 1.6 tdi. I like it. I find it gets to speed quite quickly in 3rd and 4th. The 2.0 fr owners though seem to be getting better mpg than me though. It's quite hard to get a high mpg in the 1.6 because it has to work harder to get to speed and has one less gear. But the new ecomotive has 6 gears and a nice body kit.
In Edmunds performance testing, a manual-equipped 2011 Jetta SEL went from zero to 60 mph in 8.4 seconds -- a good time for a midsize sedan with this type of fuel economy. The Jetta TDI features a
the 1.9pd (non bxe) are far more reliable than the 2.0tdi pd engine in the Passat. Oil pumps are the major issue on them with balancer shaft and hex drives wearing causing the pump to stop working thus starving the engine of oil which causes major damage. early 2.0tdi pd engines also had a chain driven pump but like the hex drives these give
